As a leader of the lung cancer advocacy movement, you are invited to be a participant in a press conference kicking off Lung Cancer Awareness Month. The press conference begins at 9 am, Tuesday, November 1, 2016, in the Fourth Estate room of the National Press Club, 529 14th St. NW, Washington, DC. A buffet breakfast will be served.

In addition to the new Lung Cancer Awareness Month collaborative initiative, the purpose of the press conference is give hope to the hundreds of thousands of people facing this disease by highlighting recent early detection breakthroughs, promising research and extraordinary treatment advances.

Shared objectives for Lung Cancer Awareness Month include:

  • Informing the public that anyone can get lung cancer
  • Raising funds and increasing resources for research
  • Reducing the mortality and the suffering caused by the number one cancer killer
  • Accentuating promising scientific advancements
  • Underscoring hope
  • Diminishing the stigma of lung cancer
